At Mountain Lake Realty, we are proud of the role we have played in helping Hickory Nut Gorge grow and prosper since we were founded over 25 years ago. We are dedicated to exemplary customer service for our clients whether they are selling property or buying the house of their dreams.

Mountain Lake Realty is a family-run business started by Ted and Betty Cashion in 1976. They first came to Lake Lure for R & R during WWII, while Ted was serving his country as an Air Force pilot. They quickly fell in love with the beautiful scenery and friendly people.

After Ted retired from the Air Force, he and Betty moved to Lake Lure and started the real estate business in the small office (shown above).

When Betty's son retired from the Army, he and his family moved here permanently. Now Betty has the able assistance of her daughter-in-law, Joan, to carry on the family business.

Throughout our history, we have consistently been good neighbors in the small town tradition, contributing time, money, and support to local community activities such as the Kiwanis Club, Hickory Nut Gorge Youth Recreation, and the Lake Lure Playground. We appreciate all the community support and referrals!
